John has extensive experience of safeguarding. He is a qualified social worker with a Masters in Child Protection Studies with decades of experience as a practitioner, manager and lead auditor within children social care, an expert witness in court proceedings, a children’s guardian for CAFCASS and as a lecturer in higher education where he led the teaching on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

When approached to offer consultancy to the Head of Safeguarding at one of the world’s leading football clubs, he was momentarily speechless. He glanced at the calendar to confirm that it was not April 1st, and as the person on the phone was a highly-regarded former student whose judgement he trusted, he decided to jump at the opportunity. And as the saying goes, the rest is history.

Over the years John is fortunate enough to have worked with some exceptional people to whom he turns when commissions require a team of experts. He is proud to call them Associates

John is photographer with a love of portraiture and landscapes and so you are liable to find random images on the site whose presence is explained by the fact that he didn’t have to ask permission.
